Another year and another Changeover!

Every year in the third week of June, Rotary Clubs around the world have a changeover of President who will head the club for the next twelve months.  Waterlooville Rotary Club was no exception as President Elect Roger Parsley took over the helm. Sadly this year was  somewhat different in that our President for 2012-2013, Sue Deyes, recently passed away after a short illness and therefore the evening started with a toast to a remarkable lady who was our Club’s first woman President.

Conducting the changeover from past President to new President (or in Roger’s terminology ‘a recycled President’ as he  held the office some years ago) in an ceremony that Sue herself would have carried out, was Past President Neil Clifton who had handed over to Sue in 2012. In his turn, the new President handed over the 2014 President Elect badge to Rotarian Ken Berry with Rotarian Sandy Sanger receiving the 2o15 regalia.  We do get organised in advance in Rotary!

Sharing the evening event were the ladies of Waterlooville Inner Wheel who were also changing over to new President and officers.  President Jean McAlister handed over to new President Liz Johnson, who like Roger, has held the office in previous years.

Another Rotary year gets off to a great start. If you would like to be part of a worldwide orgainisation doing spectacular things at home and abroad, give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

And just in case you are wondering – there are loads of young Rotarians!  WE just like to grow older disgracefully!
