Fierce Competition at Young Chef Regional Final

They came from all over the south of England to take part in the Rotary Young Chef Regional Final at Poole Grammer School on Saturday 23rd March 2013.

The skill demonstrated by these young people aged 13 to 17 was amazing and was just the same as you would see on BBC television’s ‘MasterChef’.

Our own sponsored chef was Harry Gatehouse from The Prospect School in Havant who is training at The South Downs College.  Harry did a splendid job of preparing and cooking 2 dishes at what was a fiercely contested final. An excellent effort all round from all the contestants. Well done!

The overall winner was Katie Toms from Exeter (pictured with Tony Summers) who will now go forward to the national final in April.

Waterlooville’s next Young Chef round will start again in November 2013 when we hope we will encourage local schools to take part in what is a brilliant opportunity for young people to show what they can do in the kitchen!
