November Activities

It’s getting to that time of year again.  Everyone is rushing about trying to get everything done before Christmas!

Rotary is no exception.  This week, we have the usual meeting on Tuesday but a busy week follows.  On Friday, we are collecting shoe boxes from schools around Waterlooville, we then drop them off at the premises of one of our members. Bright and early  on Saturday morning, we meet and sort  them all out into boxes suitable for boys or girls and  different age groups. They are then distributed to children abroad who otherwise would not have any presents to open on Christmas morning.

On Saturday evening, we are having a bonfire party at a farm owned by one of our members.  The party is not just for members, but their children, grandchildren and friends too.

Once we get into December, we’ll be busy again.  Hopefully on 5, 7 and 8 December, we are taking Father Christmas around the Streets in his sleigh so he can see how good the local children are being in readiness for the big day!  Then nearer Christmas on 15, 16 and 17 December, Santa will be parking his sleigh outside the Asda Store, Waterlooville.  We hope to see you there!
