We may be thinking Trick or Treat just now but as Christmas gets ever nearer, local schools are gearing up to creating festive presents in shoe boxes for children in poverty in Eastern Europe!
Waterlooville Rotary Club along with many other clubs in the area have delivered shoe boxes to schools for pupils to take home and fill with Christmas goodies that will be given to children who may never have received a present at this special time of year.
Santa may be bring all sorts of things to local children, but a child opening a box from our area thousands of miles away is something special. Rotary calls it ‘children helping children’!
Clubs will be collecting filled shoe boxes from the schools by Friday 9th November ready for a big packing session at Clares Office Supplies’ Portsmouth warehouse on Saturday 10th November. Many thanks to Clares for giving us the space to do this and many thanks to all the local schools and pupils taking part to bring joy to a child this Christmas!
