Local schools and organisations have done it again with their fantastic support for the annual Rotary Shoe Box appeal bringing festive joy to hundreds of children in Tanzania, The Philippines, Albania and Montenegro. Teams of Rotarians collected the presents on Friday 9th November and then the task of sorting and packing by Rotary Club members, superbly supported by their partners and the ladies from Waterlooville Inner Wheel, started in earnest on Saturday morning at Clares Office Supplies in Voyager Park, Portsmouth.
510 boxes from schools in the the Club’s catchment area have been processed and sent to the district collection point where, along with other schools’ donations, they will be transported abroad.
A very big thankyou to all the families and pupils of Horndean Infants, Hartplain Infants, Catherington Infants, Denmead Infants, Denmead Junior and Padnell Infants Schools who so generously donated presents and to the Horndean WI and St. George’s Church, Waterlooville who added their own boxes to the appeals.
The children will love them, and you!
